Convert betting odds between decimal, American, fractional and implied probability. Essential for comparing crypto sportsbook odds.
Different sportsbooks display odds differently. Knowing how to read all four formats helps you spot the best value.
Multiply your stake by the decimal to get total return (stake + profit). 2.50 means a $100 bet returns $250 total, $150 profit. Most common in Europe and crypto casinos.
Positive numbers show profit on a $100 stake (+150 = $150 profit). Negative numbers show how much you need to stake to win $100 (-200 = stake $200 to win $100).
Shows profit relative to stake. 6/4 means you win $6 profit for every $4 staked. Total return is profit plus stake back. Common in the UK.
Converts odds into the break-even win percentage. If you believe the real chance is higher than the implied probability, the bet has value. Formula: 1 / decimal odds.
| Implied Probability | Decimal | American | Fractional |
|---|---|---|---|
| 80% | 1.25 | -400 | 1/4 |
| 66.7% | 1.50 | -200 | 1/2 |
| 50% | 2.00 | +100 / Even | 1/1 |
| 40% | 2.50 | +150 | 6/4 |
| 33.3% | 3.00 | +200 | 2/1 |
| 25% | 4.00 | +300 | 3/1 |
| 10% | 10.00 | +900 | 9/1 |
Converting odds is not just math — it is how you compare lines across different crypto sportsbooks and spot value.
One crypto sportsbook may list +150 American odds while another shows 2.50 decimal. Both mean the same 40% implied probability. Convert everything to one format to find the better payout.
If your own research says a team has a 50% chance to win but the implied probability is 40%, the bet has value. Use our EV calculator to run the full numbers.
Crypto casinos and sportsbooks default to different formats depending on your region. Knowing how to read decimal, American and fractional odds prevents costly mistakes on every bet.

| Conversion | Formula | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal → American | ≥2.00: (decimal - 1) × 100 | <2.00: -100 / (decimal - 1) | 2.50 → +150 | 1.50 → -200 |
| American → Decimal | Positive: (odds / 100) + 1 | Negative: (100 / |odds|) + 1 | +150 → 2.50 | -200 → 1.50 |
| Decimal → Fractional | decimal - 1, then reduce | 2.50 → 1.5 → 3/2 |
| Fractional → Decimal | (numerator / denominator) + 1 | 3/2 → 2.50 |
| Decimal → Implied Probability | (1 / decimal) × 100 | 2.50 → 40.0% |
| Implied Probability → Decimal | 100 / probability | 40% → 2.50 |
